Coda Law Group is a small team of commercial and technology law experts. We negotiate contracts for some of the most successful technology companies in California - companies such as Salesforce, Adobe, Snowflake, Asana, Drata, Axios, Intercom and Prezi. We provide collaborative, in-house style support from our dedicated WeWork offices in downtown San Francisco. Coda Law Group is a place to learn and grow your skills as an in-house style tech lawyer.

Commercial Counsel

 

We are looking for a talented attorney who can negotiate deals with us for a small number of clients at time. Typical engagements allow you to become part of the in-house team, analyzing problems, creating solutions and negotiating for our clients. Together we collaborate on templates, policies, and strategies that drive business forward. Recent client matters dealt with blockchain applications, machine learning challenges, security breaches, and API partner programs.

 

The list of qualifications is below, but ultimately our clients need strong negotiators. We are looking for an experienced negotiator who has a passion for technology and helping the client achieve its commercial goals, has the experience to apply proven solutions to emerging industry issues, and has the personality to represent our team while navigating the complex dynamic between the firm, the client, and the client's customers, partners and vendors.

 

Qualifications:

  • J.D. with exceptional academic credentials and at least 7 years of relevant experience negotiating technology agreements at a leading law firm or as a corporate counsel at a leading technology company.

  • Must be admitted, active and in good standing with the CA state bar.

  • Be extremely bright and have a high EQ and excellent communication skills (written and verbal).

  • Be a strong and astute negotiator with impeccable judgment.

  • Be detail-oriented, organized, efficient and resourceful with strong follow-through skills.

  • Be highly analytical and have exceptional business and legal issue identification and problem-solving skills.

  • Be able a confident and autonomous self-starter, while being a team player.

  • Be able to simultaneously manage workloads, multiple client demands and shifting priorities within a rapidly evolving environment.

  • Have a strong desire to learn new business and new areas of law.
